Stained Glass in a Dublin Church: Context and Attribution

7.00

In the Church of St John the Baptist, on Clontarf Road, Dublin, the seven windows in the chancel, or sanctuary area, are filled with stained glass. The windows are elegantly designed, and the subject matter of each one is clearly legible. As an ensemble, their rich colouring is consistent in range and tonality, and the architectural canopy-work surmounting each scene is in harmony with their setting in this Gothic Revival church.
