In 1971 the Irish Committee of Historical Sciences presented a survey of ‘the historical work of a generation’ to the Bureau of the Comité International des Sciences Historiques ‘to mark the occasion of the Bureau’s first meeting in Ireland (16–18 July 1971)’.
